[Windows et le multimédia] La technique de l'entrelacement permet de ne rafraîchir qu'une ligne sur deux à chaque balayage; on compte sur la rémanence des matières photosensibles qui tapissent l'écran et sur la persistance rétinienne pour reconstituer l'image. Or, c'est inexact, et un moniteur à balayage entrelacé peut laisser des traces, des «fantômes» d'une image à l'autre. Il vaut mieux proscrire ce type de moniteur et opter résolument pour un système à balayage «non entrelacé».
